Shades of grape, lavender and deep violet cascade down spring 2009 runways

It’s the color of royalty and it’s managed to last throughout centuries as a returning trend for both spring and fall seasons year after year. Flattering to all skin types and always managing to make a pair of stilettos look unique, designers incorporate a ray of purple shades into their collections for Spring 2009. Long, flowy gowns in lavender, short mini dresses in bright grape and standard purple mixed in unique print patterns were seen down the runways.

Pucci takes its standard print to a new level by creating blocks of fabric into a geometric design outlining a purple dress.

Badgley Mischka creates a vision for a princess fairy with sheer lavender ruffles trickling down a corseted, trumpet gown.

Colette Dinnigan offers a separate ensemble with a chiffon, butterfly print skirt and top in violet.

Vera Wang is soft and pretty with a muted plum, organza dress with flower embroidery.

With plenty of options to choose from, there’s no way you won’t be able to find a fruity shade to compliment your complexion next season.
