Posted by: cda5 on: October 21, 2009

Just like with clothing, Halloween costumes have trends as well. We got costumes for the women, men, couples, and jokesters. I’ll show you what’s hot and how to get them inexpensively only at www.buycostumes.com.

1. Michael Jackson

With the passing of his death, the “King of Pop” is a popular theme for Halloween. Emulate his rhinestone glove style or his zombie look from the music video, “Thriller”. Or try this “Beat It” costume for $89.99. Whatever you do, make sure it’s tasteful.

2. Kate Gosselin

Kate Gosselin of Kate and Jon Plus 8 has become a big celebrity. Everyone has been copying her signature hair cut, and now they want to be her for Halloween. Make sure to get the Kate Gosselin wig to complete your look like this one for $12.99, which is appropriately titled, “Eight is Too Much”.

3. Vampires

With TruBlood, Twilight, and the now popular Vampire Diaries, there are no shortage of vampires around. Girls can dress as a sexy vamp. Guys can go the classic route and become Dracula. Or, go as a couple and be Bella and Edward from Twilight. The possibilities are endless! This Blood Vampiress costume is only $46.99! (And whatever you do, make sure to include fangs!)

4. Lady Gaga

This is an easy costume. Find something ridiculous to wear, complete with some crazy shades and a blonde wig. You can buy a complete “Poker Face” costume for only $39.99. (I adore this little costume!)

5. “Balloon Boy”

Silver Balloons (6 count)   Silver Prismatic Star Foil Balloon

If you didn’t hear about the “Balloon Boy” hoax, then you were under a rock last week. The Heene family caused a stir in Colorado when they said they thought their 6-year-old son, Falcon, floated away in a hot air balloon. They found the balloon with no one inside and the rest is media history…I just have a feeling everyone’s going to to show up at a party dressed as a balloon. Get yourself a box and attach a huge silver helium balloon, similar toe the ones above which will run you about $0.75 to $2.49.

6. Max from “Where the Wild Things Are”

This movie has grown popular in the last week with the adult crowd, which makes sense since ”Baby Boomers” were the ones who grew up with the book. (Which was published in 1963.) The real Max costume costs about $610, so it’s safe to either sew your own Max “hoodie”. (The one where he dresses up as a wolf.) The cheapest one I could find was for $119.99.

7. The Kardashian Sisters

With their infamous relationships and reality show, these sisters have made a name for themselves. Khloe would be an easy target, but this “Kim” costume is just $19.99. (Booty included, but dress isn’t.)

8. Swine Flu

http://images.buycostumes.com/mgen/merchandiser/65777.jpg?zm=1200,1200,1,0,0

Yes, this a serious illness but a lot of people are going to make light of it with a surgeon’s mask or pig nose such as the one above for $9.99. (Scrubs not included.)

9. Octomom

http://images.buycostumes.com/mgen/merchandiser/65788.jpg?zm=1200,1200,1,0,0

Here’s another popular mom this year with 8 children. Complete your look with big lips, long black hair, and 8 baby dolls such as this kit for $44.99.

10. Hippie

With the 40th anniversary of Woodstock this year, I can safely say that it’s an appropriate time to dress like a hippie. You won’t look like you’re behind the times. Get the cute “Purple Haze Hippie Costume” for only $36.99 and spread some love and peace.

My Son Loved it for Halloween

We ordered this for my son as his Halloween costume since he had been talking about going as an astronaut since we went to the Air and Space Museum in DC this past summer. It came a day or 2 before the scheduled delivery date, and it also arrived in perfect condition. He loved it , so we loved it.
