Just like with finding the right gift, it’s just as important to find the right outfit. And with Thanksgiving and Christmas quickly approaching, it’s time to find out what’s hot. Picture lots of sequins and metallics paired with velvet. Here, I will explain the trends, and how you can get them for less at a retailer near you.

Sequins and Metallics

This year, black is dressed up with sequins and metallics. You will see splashes of silver and bronze. Expect to see sequins alone as well, in either dress or tunic form. Pair them with black opaque tights and boots for a dramatic look. I love this limited edition dress at Target for just $39.99. You will be twinkling like Christmas lights.

Velvets

Black will become dressed up in velvet as well. Try on a velvet dress or blazer for a simple, yet dressy look. Or, rock velvet on jeans. Who says you can’t dress up in denim? You can also warm up your legs and look hot in velvet leggings.

Leather and Studs

A look worn that was once worn by motorcyclists has become a big trend this fall and winter. Dress yours up with studs, and you will be the hit of the party.

Vintage Coats and Scarves

Coats are getting dressed up this year in beautiful colors and designs. Imagine candy colored pea coats, trench coats, and toggle coats. Top it all off with a beautiful cashmere scarf, especially one that is ruffled. Ruffles are now hot on scarves. There’s also a new scarf in town called “Infinity”. You won’t have to worry about tying it or having it fall off. This chunky knit “Infinity” scarf from The Limited for $39.50 is a great example. They also make the perfect gift!

Forget stilettos! Complete your look with boots instead. And with all the styles to choose from, you may have a hard time deciding.

Just don’t overdo it on the trends. Stick to one look, and you’ll turn heads in no time.
