MTV Hive debuted Kelly Sweet’s music video for “Ashes of My Paradise.” This electro-pop singer shows Lady Gaga and other singers how it’s done. In fact, she makes Gaga look like a preschooler.

Kelly wears a lot of avante garde fashions in the music. In one shot, she wears a dramatic black beaded dress with a sheer cape. In another shot, you can catch a glimpse of her wearing a shredded white dress.

The music video is about a crumbling relationship. Kelly explains to MTV Hive:

“In the opening shots, the mood is innocent, but there is a feeling of strain beneath the surface,” Sweet tells Hive. “As we move in deeper, we see the pain and passion take over as the colors become darker. However, all the way through we maintain a small light of hope reaching for the bit of true love left between the two.”

Can we talk about the music? “Ashes of My Paradise” is so damn catchy. You’ll want to play the song repeatedly on your iPod. I love discovering new music. So, I’m glad to get to know this singer firsthand.

There’s already been praise for the singer from Nylon Magazine and Aquarium. Kelly Sweet will play at Club Moscow in Los Angeles, Cali. Check her out on Jan. 30 at 10 p.m.

Bella Il Fiore Metallic Cosmetic Bag Collection

logoheader

Bella Il Fiore recently came out with a new metallic cosmetic bag collection. It comes in three different sizes and three different colors. Choose either size or color for whatever your needs.

The cosmetic bag collection comes in light pink, silver, and gold. They look great with anything in your wardrobe. Use the small, medium, or large size for going out or storing your makeup.

All of the bags are completely versatile. The small size doubles as an evening bag. Use the large size for throwing into your carry-on bag.

The Bella Il Fiore metallic cosmetic bags range from $13 to $19. This company believes in maintaining your everyday beauty regimen while looking as fabulous as possible. They have feminine products that are also trendy and giftable.

Visit the Bella Il Fiore website or check out the metallic cosmetic bag collection at the following link. There are plenty of other products you’ll love, even if these don’t suit your style. I’m going nuts for their makeup palettes.

First Lady Michelle Obama’s Red Inaugural Ball Gown

Image

First Lady Michelle Obama stunned everyone at the 2013 inaugural ball. She wore a red gown by Jason Wu. Her floor length gown was made from chiffon and velvet. It also had a halter neckline.

Everyone wanted to know how they could get their hands on such a beautiful gown. Luckily, a red gown is easy to find. Unfortunately, you won’t find one made from velvet and chiffon.

Unique Vintage has gowns that you can wear to your next prom or cocktail party. These gowns are glamorous, but affordable. Check out their versions of Michelle Obama’s inaugural ball gown.

What Should Michelle Obama Wear to the Inauguration Ball?

Michelle Obama has a big decision to make. Fashion designers are clamoring to design her dress for the Inaugural ball. She already has her pick from top designers like Chanel, L’Wren Scott and Nanette Lepore.

But what if the First Lady wants to go for an economical designer? She’s known to wear dresses by White House Black Market. The trendy store already has their sketches for Michelle. They reached out for me to publish the sketches live on my blog.

If White House | Black Market was given the opportunity to dress First Lady Michelle Obama in a gorgeous gown, we envision it would be in one of our exclusive dress designs.

It’s anyone’s guess who she will wear during Monday night’s inaugural ball, but we’re sure she has plenty of options.

Earlier this month, White House | Black Market introduced a limited-edition inaugural-inspired dress collection. This collection consists of nine dresses ranging from cocktail to beaded gowns that retail between $250-$300. These unique dresses are currently sold online and exclusively at four White House | Black Market boutiques including The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, Tyson’s Corner, Wisconsin Place, and Westfield Montgomery.

It’s safe to say that Michelle Obama will have a hard trouble deciding. Which dresses do you think the First Lady should wear to the Inaugural ball?

Ask the Guru: Richilene by Sara Ripault

Dear Guru:

I was cleaning out my mothers basement and found a dress by Sara Ripault for Richilene. It is in almost perfect condition, but I dont know who she is or if her clothes were any good. I also found a pair of overalls by Lord and Taylor. They are both from the 1960′s-1970′s. Would you know anything about these two peices or who i could ask about them?

-Mimi

Dear Mimi:

I never heard of Sara Ripault. Through a quick Google search, I couldn’t find any information on her. However, I did find some information about Richilene. I found some old Richilene dresses. Click the pictures for more information:

The last dress bcosts $400. Obviously, the clothing is well-made and valuable. They’re also amazing! I can only imagine what your dress looks like.

You can find more Richilene dresses at Etsy.

I wouldn’t know anything about the Lord & Taylor overalls. I would need to know the brand or designer name.
