Thursday Friday wait-listed new iconic It-bag

To mark its first birthday, LA-based label Thursday Friday celebrates with two new launches: a fox fur iPhone cover called iPhone Home, and a new edition of its controversial It-tote: the MOTO series in five delicious colors.

Printed on all five sides with images that conjure up luxury and timelessness, the Together bag is a light, easy, and practical bag, democratically priced.  It also elicited speculation and debate – plus some gossip – regarding its take on luxury iconography and intellectual property.  Thursday Friday creative director Roni Brunn comments on the label’s legal adventures, ”Olena has an IT background, and I’m a musician/engineer.  When we started Thursday Friday, we thought the learning curve would be in fashion, not in the law.  IP law is fascinating, but we’re glad that’s the only tough lesson we got.  We’re happy to be just as ignorant about medicine as we were when we launched.  Ignorant and healthy.”

The iPhone Home features a two-toned, super soft fox fur body, leather trim, and a round, mod clip.  Use the clip to hang the iPhone Home onto a handbag handle, key rings, or inner D-rings.  The closure is Thursday Friday’s own invention: an ingeniously simple loop system that lets you whip out your phone when you need it and keeps your phone safe when you don’t.

Thursday Friday’s parody of luxury is now carried by more than 450 contemporary stores worldwide, a retail network that sprouted since the label launched in December, 2010.
